If I should ever die alone
Having lived my life on my own
Then this is all I'd like to say

That right upto that very day
I wish to live and love and feel
To live a life of pain - if real
For people live and people die
For each other - by and by

I wish to be a golden key
To open doors, to help other see

I wish to walk with them on their way
Wherever it leads - who can say?
But God alone can be our guide
Though it was only for us that Jesus died
I wish to work for the Lord alone
By working for others with not a groan
And to see the beauties from heavens high
To hear God's voice in every sigh
To share my love and hope for nought
To be glad of what the day has brought
To sing my happiness in a voice so strong
To be there for others when something's wrong

But most of all I wish for me
To have the ability to see
That it might be my very love
To receive those words from high above
To please another with what I write
To lift him up to my only height

And if I should ever die alone
Having lived my life on my own
With no loving man to love me so
I pray to God that I may not grow
To being lonely or grumpy and grey
For though I care not for what the people say
I would miss the joy I could give along
In a poem, a smile, a touching song

The sharp cold wind
Has reached me at last
But I don't feel like feeling
Or digging in the past

My once white angels
Have left me once again
But I was ready for it this time
Don't expect the where and when

Well the people walk by
Wrapped in hats of lies
Draped in scarves of deceit
But still - love never dies

And somehow I feel
That you're the one for me
And as I lie here adreaming
I think - couldn't it be?

Together we're off, on the run
But it doesn't make much sense to me.

The ticket to freedom is in your heart
We promised each other never to part
But it doesn't make much sense you see

You know every time I dream
I really try to make it seem
That we belong together - you and me

Tears from heaven fall as we go
People laughing but my spirits are low
And it doesn't make much sense to me

We're in the world, we're here we're free
We got what we want happy I schould be
But it doesn't make much sense don't you see

Nobody else ever taught me love
Now I can fly in the sky above
But I don't know what I'm saying
Can't play the game your playing
